"Never beg anyone. Never fear anyone. Never depend on anyone."
"I've fought with my fears, my doubts, my anxieties, and insecurities. I've fought with liars, bigots, backbiters, and betrayers. Even had to fight with family. And many times I've laid in bed, and I couldn't fall asleep because I was fighting with myself."
"I wish I was the monster you think I am. I wish I had enough poison for the whole pack of you. I would gladly give my life to watch you all swallow it."

Abra has evolved exponentially as a person starting from his late teens all the way to the present time at thirty-seven summers old. not only was he the only boy in the initial family, but he was the only one that held no interest in pursuing the study of the arcane arts. in childhood, despite his parents supporting his endeavors that weren't necessarily what they expected, he often went through depressive episodes or periods of angst feeling as if he let his family down - not knowing what exactly he wanted to do with his life.in young adulthood, his demeanor took a sharp turn after enduring being treated like an outcast by the other local youth. he was a borderline hellraiser to anyone that wasn't family or in his initial circle of friends. while he wasn't necessarily a "bully", he didn't take kindly to things not going his way or people that presumed he was easily pushed around. at an age where making mistakes were to be expected and learned from, he made many. it wasn't until someone tipped him off join the Brass Blades that his attitude began to simmer down and he began managing his temper.Over time as Abra matured, his love for fighting grew, but his reasons for fighting noticeably shifted. Instead of growing defensive over his own ego and projecting certain insecurities, he became defensive for friends that didn't share the same bravery or physical defense as he had, and even more so for the family that may have suffered slander or threats due to their upbringing. The only time when he wasn't on his guard and restless was in the presence of relatives or his then-girlfriend - who eventually became his wife and mother of his child. Right before his daughter was born was when Abra began to put his warmonger tendencies to rest and shift into a family man, finally feeling that his mind could rest from the constant emotional and literal battles. However, his 'rest' was short-lived due to his wife's unclean death several cycles later. Abra became a single father, and all the frustrations and anger that he worked the majority of his life to mediate and control noticeably began to surface once more. He is not always quick to trust unfamiliar faces, and a few acquaintances have commented that holding a conversation with him is like walking on eggshells. As before, it seems the only time Abra can find true peace is within his own family, as the only companions that have the same effect on him seem to have shrunk to just a few in number.

a former Brass Blade : Abra has spent a reasonable length of time being a hired sellsword for the general areas of Thanalan through most of his early and mid-twenties. He was about as glorious or crooked as the common folk believed most the Blades to be - all depending on where the leves called for him or where the gil put into his hands came from (some of which weren't from the cleanest of buyers).
From being stationed to ward off any Amaljaa advances, to acting as bodyguard for underground noble parties, among a few darker requested services for pay, Abra has met many faces that worked alongside him or directly hired him for services. Were you one of them? Or perhaps a crook that he apprehended?
a "relentless" fighter for sport : ten or so cycles ago, when leves and bounties were low on demand and the pay for the Brass Blades wasn't as fulfilling as it should have been, Abra found himself occasionally competing in the fight pits to earn a percentage of the bets made on him as well as aiming for tournament winnings. but more important than the money was the thrill of battle for the little man, and even when finances were balanced did he find himself jonesing for combat sport - be it hand in hand or with his favored blades, and very often shocked pit watchers when he'd muscle through not one, but often two, or even three fights - even if he lost. "Where in the blazes does he get that energy?" Did your character ever compete with him or against him? Treated each other to a drink while spectating? Perhaps you suspected foul play...?a retired Flames Lieutenant : Abra became a conscript after a violent incident involving a Mirage Trust applicant amidst a protest within Ul'dah's walls. although initially reluctant, his family as well as his partner insisted that he complied with the order to join the Flames - otherwise face prison time in the Marasaja Pit. Being drafted into the Immortal Flames ended up being significantly favorable on Abra's end: His addiction gradually came to an end, and he channeled his anger problems into the battlefields - doing what he loves best.
He ended up serving for three and a half cycles - well past the required time to repay his service - and climbed up the ranks until his promotion to Second Flames Lieutenant where he directed his own line of officers. His primary jobs were centralized around Infantry during his time at entry level, which then shifted towards Special Forces not long after his latest promotion. He retired three cycles later, shortly after the liberation of Ala Mhigo, but those who served alongside him would remember his tenacity in combat. If you served for the Immortal Flames (especially the foreign brigade), there may be a chance Abra will recognize your face - or vice versa.
a chocobo trainer : part of Abra's responsibilities as a young boy was to help raise a variety of animals - including cockatrice and karakuls, but the primary chore was to help his uncle (who was known as a chocobo breeder) clean, maintain, and give his chocobos a sustainable life. Because of this long-term routine, Abra slowly grew attached to these birds and started to find enjoyment in raising them.He presently has a chocobo of his own named Santeria - who was one of the few birds that weren't sold off to compete in racing or sent all the way up to the cold climate of Coerthas - and rides her up to Ishgard at least once a moon to offer his volunteer training to the stables that the Temple Knights maintain. Acquaintances who weren't lucky enough to find or raise themselves a cooperative chocobo would usually go to Abra first to give them advice or train the birds himself.
a (former) steroid burnout : the commonfolk more than likely pondered how someone of such small stature could emit such strength while on duty or in the fighting rings, and Abra would be lying if he ever denied being persuaded to get some 'help' on occasion during his younger summers. he never had an interest in recreational mind-altering substances that were used just for the fun of it; they had to have some sort of benefit or push to help him with a task or goal to grab his interest - and not only did pluto grab, it clutched.
from accepting tokes of Pluto as he pretended to not notice it being smuggled in, to weening off of it by alternatively taking potions of vitality or strength, Abra learned the hard way about the physical detriments of both substances in excess before getting drafted into the Immortal Flames. He's been clean from both for seven cycles, but perhaps you were present with him, partaking with him, or possibly even pushing the drug on him during his dependency?
a family of underdogs : dealing with two families (his own, and coincidentally his wife's) consisting heavily of kin that are deeply rooted with the Mhachi has raised Abra to be aware that there are some things about his relatives, himself and his genealogy that may not be admired or even respected by others - even when he himself took no interest in becoming a mage or ritualistic practices. it seems some Spoken are still incredibly sour with the series of events that transpired between Mhach and Nym prior to the Calamity, and on the same token there are some who show admiration to the survivors or those who share the ancestry.Abra doesn't utilize his talents with the greatsword nearly as often as he does with the axe, but maybe you've noticed him dabbling in these powers in secret, or perhaps you're a sympathizer from either side of the War - which would either make you stand with or oppose his lineage and their darker practices of aetherial manipulation. Your stance just may affect his outlook on you.

Thank you for your time!
My name is 🌙, and I've been writing and roleplaying for 21 years from many corners of the internet: forums, gaming platforms, and various chat messengers (AIM anyone?). After a long hiatus from FFxiv, I have returned, and reveal Abra as my offering to the rp gods.

Let's come to a few agreements . . .
ADULTS ONLY [21+]I am a grown woman that only plays grown characters. I would very much like you (the player) and your character to be the same. (Well, you don't have to be a woman, but... you know what I mean.)
Dark or Mature themes can and have been explored, so I do not welcome roleplaying with minors.
also note : Abra is an adult Lalafell who will act like any other. If yours is presented as a minor, do not try to interact with him.
IC ≠OOCI enjoy playing drama inducing characters... but do not take that as me being a drama player. I'm far from it, and I stay far away from that sort. If you can understand that a film actor is not the same as his character or that a book character is not the same as their writer, then you can understand that the content and people that I roleplay does not equate to me as a person.
MY STANCE ON:Combat RP: Absolutely! Rolls are preferred in the beginning, but as more certitude and connection is developed OOCly I'll become open to utilizing the trust system. If you're the type that gets real fancy with customized roll systems, I'll be more than happy to dabble with those depending on the complexity.
Maiming/Permadeath: Maiming must be discussed beforehand. Permadeath is not permitted at this time.
Romance: Abra is a widow, meaning any type of attraction or romance, although not impossible, will be fairly difficult to obtain. Patience will be a virtue if you try.
Metagaming: I don't fuck with that.
Godmodding: I don't fuck with that.
Lore Bending: Semi-flexible. As much as I'm usually a lore-whore and have recently reached endgame, I'm not quite satisfied with the amount that I've studied so far. With still so much to learn from the game - including some canon grey areas, I don't feel I'm in the position to be against a little bending.
Lore Breaking: NAW . . . as far as what I have learned so far and know for sure . . . I'd rather not partake.
HOW TO FIND/REACH ME:IN-GAME: If you find yourself crossing paths and see me lingering about the zone, feel free to whisper/tell if you're interested in catching the man with the hex. Do exercise patience if messages are exchanged between cutscenes or instanced content.
DISCORD: Available upon request.
Platform Preference: In-Game preferred, but Discord flexible.
Writing Style: Dominantly paragraph style; with the exception of high-capacity events and plots, where quick style is also fine.
Best Availability: 6PM to 12AM EST on my free nights. Because I am an independent contractor that works based on gigs and not a set schedule, particular days/time of availability are unpredictable. It's better to reach out to schedule something than to DM and hope I'm available at that very moment, as chances are high that I'll already be pre-occupied with something.

Vavasha Vasha
Mother
"They say that a man's first love is his mother, and it couldn't be truer. She's stubborn with her demeanor, but for good reason: Her healing has and always has worked in more ways than one - even if it may seem old-fashioned to some. I was convinced for the longest time that I had disappointed her for being part of the few in the family that didn't want to practice magic, but I'm grateful that she still wants me in her life despite all the bullshite I made her put up with as I was growing up."
Jujuli Juli
Ex-Wife
(Deceased)
"It is hard even to this day to find words to describe her. I'd probably be in the Pit, or worse, if Juli hadn't decided to be a part of my life. Her knack for Thaumaturgy as well as Conjury is absolutely phenomenal, but even moreso is that she became the mother of my first child. She deserved better than what those stained walls of Ul'dah had to offer her. Hells, I always thought she deserved better than me, yet she insisted on staying with me, bringing out the best in me, and made me realize that I'm capable of feeling compassion instead of conflicting. I truly don't believe I'll ever find another woman like her again . . ."
Lulure Lure
Mother-In-Law
"I never said this in front of Juli, but this woman can be a real bitch. She will judge you from your stance on the War of The Magi and general thoughts about White and Black magic - assuming you have any thoughts at all, which she'll probably scrutinize you if you don't. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, so to speak. From the first day I met her, I assumed she hated me, especially at present, but once I learned some history of Juli's ancestry and heard stories of the black mage herself, my agitation towards her quickly diminished. I admire her stoicism and insistence on keeping her daughter in good hands - as I do with my own."
Rognac Cognac
Father
"He's not in the best of shape now. From what I've seen for myself and heard, Dad's had quite the tangle with war and plenty of conflict across the realm. He tried to warn me when I was young that all law enforcement - regardless of the locale - were nothing but crooks or cutthroats. Though I never assumed he was wrong, I didn't realize just how right he would be. Mom always says I have his charm; being attracted to battle and physical labor... and being a general hard-ass. His hands and legs are pretty fucked, so he can't enjoy the physical hobbies he used to enjoy without a fair share of pain, but he still sticks to Mom as if he just asked her out yesterday - which is incredibly admirable."
Vuneli Zaneli
Uncle [Maternal]
"So this is the goofy uncle that obviously uses humor as a coping mechanism - not that I'm putting him down for trying to keep things positive in the household. He had me lend him a hand with his chocobo breeding business when I was a kid, and it sort of grew on me even to this present day. He's got two daughters himself, and although they are well above Cicily's age bracket, they like to keep her company while I shoot the shite with Vuneli. I appreciate that they all love her presence and that Vuneli can relate to me as a single father."
Rolgo Zulgo
Uncle [Paternal]
"We all have at least one relative that seems to never find a day of peace. It's a wonder how this man's lungs and liver haven't given up on him from the recreational mayhem he puts them through to this day. He acts more like an older brother to me than an uncle, though that may be because he and Dad tend to butt heads just as often as they pat each other on the back. I'd be lying if I said he wasn't a good guy to vent to about things I was too hesitant to share with my parents as a kid. I just hope he doesn't drink himself to an early grave."
Cicili Cili
Daughter
"The current love of my life - and all I have to my name. I honestly can't believe I've even made it to this chapter, and holding her for the first time was like a wrecking ball of hope that my life would only get better from that point on. Like any other parent, I can't help but wonder what sort of path she'll take as she grows and matures - which may be a while to figure out as she's still a kid. Still naive... still pure... but she's definitely not dumb. I wouldn't wish having to explain to a child why they won't see their mother again on my worst enemy. Even though I essentially have to play both mom and a dad, I still consider this one of my greatest opportunities, and I don't think there is much that I wouldn't do to keep her out of harm's way."

Gogolai Kokolai
"Don't let his babyface fool you. This guy's got the demeanor of a puppy but can show the tenacity of a wolf if you push him too hard. Poor dude got sucked into Papadoga's trap circle when he was just barely old enough to join the Brass Blades and got way too deep in the dirty money and partying along with it. Being as young as he was, he was just going with the flow; Hells, I was too to a degree, but I didn't get stuck in situations I wasn't prepared for like he did, and it took him quite a few hard lessons to realize that wasn't the way his life was supposed to go, and that he had the potential to be a clean, level-headed fighter. Haven't seen him for a few cycles, but I hope he's kept up in straightening up his act.

Tiny Tomb
"Has a foreboding ring to it, doesn't it? 'Captain Tomb'. I got the pleasure to serve under him once I was enlisted in the Flames and get a whole lot of tough love. He knew I was a fresh conscript trying to avoid prison time, but training with him at first would make you wish you had chosen prison instead - which was bizarre considering the Immortal Flames were hurting for more willing soldiers at the time. He only started taking it easier on me once he realized I was muscling through withdrawal a third of the time we were dispatched, and I soon learned he was formerly a peddler in Vylbrand, more than likely seeing previous less fortunate souls in me. I was actually sad when I heard he was retiring right as I was promoted to second lieutenant, but you'd think his face was a puzzle game with how many war scars he collected over the cycles. The big man has earned more than a fair share of rest."

Zuzudoa Gigidoa(Deceased)
"I had the honor of meeting Jujuli's grandfather - and being mentored by him - before he was met with the fate of his terminal illness. I was not a practicer of magic, but the bulk of my family along with Juli's was, and Zuzudoa could see that I might have felt... out of place? Imagine my surprise when he told me there was a way to utilize the magics 'passed down' to me from the Mhachi all while still wielding heavy weaponry - a way to make myself a bigger threat than I already was to those that wanted to bring harm to Juli or any of my loved ones. After one meeting in Coerthas, my mind was absolutely blown. I had heard stories of the Dark Knights in passing and the methods to their madness in a fight (along with the stigma that came with it), but never thought that this old man was one of them, let alone kind(?) enough to quite literally drill what he knew into me. There were a number of times I wasn't sure if he was trying to prepare me or kill me, but gifting me his soul stone before his death definitely implied the former.
L'arhll Zhed
"This is a complicated one... a very sharp-tongued and wary swordsman, but she was one of the best combatants in my squadron. Never liked being addressed by her surname, and when I finally questioned why she only answered "Zhed's dead, baby." Things only got strange when she started saying she wished she had a partner - or a father figure - who was just like me, and her subtle hints of wanting to be more than just an officer and their soldier dropped like bombs. L'arhll and I may have had stronger chemistry compared to the other soldiers, but she knew she couldn't have what she wanted. I was already with Jujuli - fixing to get married, nonetheless, but she kept herself in line and remained an outstanding asset to the Immortal Flames. Occasionally, she'll send me a letter to check on my well-being since I retired. If there's any question about how Jujuli's doing, I don't bother answering. She still doesn't know what happened... but I don't want her to assume she has a chance...
Zuzushan Tutushan
"Jujuli's now ex-husband. I had heard some grimy stuff about this man even before I met either of them. One private party at the Platinum Mirage was all it took to see what kind of person this man was, and nothing irked me so quickly as finding out his real character - only to meet Juli and find out she was wed to him of all people.
Of course, while they were already in the middle of the divorce, he saw that she and I were getting closer and immediately became incredibly disrespectful towards her. Hearing about it was bad enough, but seeing it for myself practically made me lose what little sanity I already had. I made him wish he could die, and the only thing holding me back from that wish was Juli assuring me that he should live and suffer through seeing us happy together instead.
Papadoga Tatadoga
"The powerful have always preyed on the powerless; that's how they become powerful in the first place.
There is no use for this guy being your "friend" unless he thinks he can find a way to manipulate or backstab you for anything he wants. It's a wonder how he wasn't ripped to shreds by the other Blades or Lolorito himself with his track record of spreading lies (or legs) to stand on top of everyone else. I haven't seen the guy for several cycles, and as much as the idea of trying to snap his neck again if I see him sounds good, I can't put my future at risk now that I've got a kid to care for. But gods know he did me and several others real dirty."
